During the 1950s, Mr. Sadberry helped Tuskegee Airmen and other Black military officers stationed at the Bryan Air Field. This history and experience with the Tuskegee Airmen is the gensis of the school's mascot, named for the P-51 Mustang planes the Tuskegee Airmen flew.
